The Mt. Carmel Oil Patch Classics began in 1980 and is the premier couples tournament in the Tri-State Area. Named "Oil Patch" in honor of the important petroleum business exploring the geological formation known as the Illinois Basin, the tournament continues to draw teams from all over the United States and the World.
The tournament takes place at Mt. Carmel Municipal Golf Course in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. This course is one of the finest municipal courses in the Illinois Basin.
